Getting help.
TrueForm is in TestFlight beta, so some of this will change. If something is broken or baffling, telling us is genuinely useful.

Email yasine.tawfeek@true-form.uk. It's a small team, so you'll get a human. If you're reporting a bug, the three things that help most are: what exercise you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
You can also use Help & feedback in the app's Settings, which sends along your app version and device model so we don't have to ask.
Set-up problems
It can't see my whole body
Step back until you're 2 to 3 metres from the phone, and prop the phone so the camera is roughly waist height and pointing level rather than up at the ceiling. The setup check in the app shows a guide frame and tells you when you're fully in it. You can always tap Skip and start anyway.
The camera permission prompt didn't appear, or I said no
Open iOS Settings, scroll to TrueForm and turn Camera on. TrueForm can't coach without the camera, because the camera is the only sensor it uses.
It's too dark
The pose landmarker needs to make out your limbs. A single overhead light is usually fine; a backlit silhouette against a window is not. If the skeleton is jumping around, more light on you — not behind you — is the fix.
The phone keeps falling over
Lean it against something with weight: a dumbbell, a water bottle, a bench leg, your gym bag. It only needs to stay put for a set. A tripod works too, but you don't need one.
Detection and counting
It named the wrong exercise
The detected exercise is shown with a confidence bar so you can see when it's unsure. If you're running a routine and it disagrees with what's next, it pauses and asks rather than switching on its own — choose Switch or Keep plan. If it's consistently wrong on one exercise, email us and say which: that's exactly the feedback that improves the models.
My reps aren't being counted
A rep counts as a full round trip: from the rest position, through the engaged position, and back. Partials at the top won't register. Make sure the joints involved are visible — a bench press counted from directly head-on is harder than from the side.
Russian twist doesn't count reps at all
Correct, and deliberate. It's a rotation rather than a flexion, and the 12 tracked landmarks don't resolve the rep cleanly. You still get a form score for the set.
The verdict frame keeps changing colour
It's averaged over about a second so it shouldn't flicker. If it's swinging between amber and green on a rep, that's usually a genuinely borderline rep rather than a glitch — but tell us if it looks wrong.
Known beta issues
Last updated for the current TestFlight build
- Only the 13 bundled exercises are detected. Anything else will be matched to the nearest one it knows, with low confidence.
- Detection is less reliable from directly head-on than from a three-quarter angle, on pressing movements especially.
- The thumbs-up gesture needs your hand clearly in frame and can miss in low light.
- Reps aren't counted for russian twist, by design.
- Android isn't supported. iPhone, iOS 17 or later.
If you hit something that isn't on this list, that's worth an email.
Send feedback
Beta testers decide what gets built next, and the exercise list is the most useful thing to weigh in on. Tell us which exercise you'd add first and we'll count the votes.
Three routes, in order of how much we can do with them:
- Help & feedback in the app — comes with the app version and device, so nothing to chase up.
- TestFlight's own feedback button — good for crashes; it attaches a screenshot and the crash log.
- Email — yasine.tawfeek@true-form.uk for anything longer than a couple of sentences.
Your data
Camera video is never recorded, stored or uploaded. Frames are processed on your iPhone and discarded. What syncs is your profile, your routines and your results — scores, reps, dates — so they're on every device you sign in to.
You can export everything as JSON from Settings → Privacy & data, and delete your account from the same place. Deleting removes your synced data. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
